1/15/2008 Final thoughts on 2007 Season
I never thought I'd be writing the final chapter to the season so soon. We felt we were rested up and ready for San Diego and we had a good plan of attack. But like most games, this one came down to the things we always stress--don't give up big plays, don't turn the ball over and don't have unnecessary penalties. That is usually a strength of ours but in the Chargers game we let all these things show up. And to their credit, they kept fighting back and made the big plays when it counted.

Yesterday's team meeting is always the one you dread. The finality of not playing anymore, of the season just being over with no warning, is what makes the NFL playoffs so special. There are no second chances and no excuses accepted. But when you lose, there is nothing to do but look to next year. Your players and staff realize how much work you have put in and what it takes to just get to that point. You know you're going to have to start over and do more than that in 2008. But that's what football, and life, are all about. Trying your best, giving it everything you have, accepting

About Me
I'm starting my sixth year as coach of the Indianapolis Colts.  I have been in professional football in some capacity since 1977.  I'm married and have five children.  I love my family and I love my job.  It gives me an opportunity to work with young men and to be outdoors a lot.  When I'm not working I enjoy nature and being outdoors.  I am a Christian who values my relationship with God above everything else and am involved in a lot of Christ centered charity work.

Favorite Places to Hangout
I love hanging out on  the water or by the water.  Any kind of water is OK with me.
What I do...

I love sports and being outdoors.  I like to be around people and things that will keep me active.  My favorite thing to do to relax is go fishing.  I also enjoy bike riding, hiking or anything else that you can do outdoors to enjoy God's creation.  After living in Florida for six years I've become somewhat of a warm weather person and I also like to take in all kinds of sporting events.

Favorite Vacation Spots
Hawaii, Jamaica, and also Northern Minnesota in the summertime.
If I could go anywhere, I would go to...
I enjoy vacation times with my family so I could go anywhere with them but we have really enjoyed Hawaii.  But I like finding out about new places, so I would love to go someplace new with my wife.

Thank you for granting my request on the book signing in July! I am really looking forward to it and hope my nephews can attend too! I had bought the paperback today and also scanned through the magazines to find you in the Sporting News weekly (Had to buy it) with the article on how you choose year by year on retirement. I am looking forward to finding sometime to read the added chapter and the article. I also have one of the childrens books already pre ordered. Will you be doing anything at the Childrens home anytime soon? Thanks again! The upcoming book signing means alot!
