There has been a lot of speculation this week around a story that Tony's son Eric has enrolled in a high schoool in Florida and that this means Tony will retire at the end of this season.
My thoughts on this are that Tony will, like he does every year, evaluate things at the end of the season. I don't beleive that win lose or draw this week, in the AFC Championship game, or the Super Bowl, will have a direct impact on his decision. Like every year he will look at his family and how staying or leaving will affect them.
I believe that Tony is looking out for his son, Eric's best interests. With all due respect to Park Tudor, if you have a son with great football skills, from a family with a pro history, and that son aspires to play college and subsequently pro football, where doy ou think the best opportunities lie?
Florida is second only to Texas as far as high school football programs go. The liklihood of being recuited by the national powers are much greater playing on a Florida high school team, than playing at Park Tudor.
My hope and belef is that after the Colts repeat as Super Bowl Champs, Tony will decide to stay at least a few more years to coich the Colts. Whatever he decides, I know it will be in the best interest of himself, his family and the team.
What are your thoughts?
