Conspiracy Theory? Tell me your thoughts

I think we all watched with great interest the game last night between the Ravens and Pats.  Never before were the Pats that close to losing that late in a game.  There has been a lot of talk this morning by the Ravens and the media that there is a conspiracy theory by the NFL to have the Pats go 16-0.

The Ravens claim the refs were making bogus calls against them and verbally abusing them.  Samari Rolle said the head linesman kept calling him "boy" and that that is why Bart went crazy and threw the flag that was thrown on him.

It is also being speculated that since the Pats last game is vs the Giants on the NFL newtork, there will be more interest in that game if the Pats have the opportunity to make history.  Connecting  the dots, the bigger the game, the more likely people will be to open their pocketbooks and pay whatever they have to to get the NFL network added to their programming package.

Please share your thoughts, is there a conspiracy to have the Pats make history, or are they just not  lonly good, but lucky also?

kinda late in responding...but, I've said for years...if there is a betting line on the game, it's probably not on the level. I agree about selling commerical time, that plays a part also. I could go on for a long time.

anything that smells like a conspiracy probably has an element of truth to it. I'm certainly not ready to annoint them as the best ever. That division is too weak to say that. A turnover here or there and a wrong call that didn't go their way and they're sittiing with 4 losses this year. Cheating and luck and a wrist slap for getting caught cheating.....too many question marks there. They finally got what they deserved. Justice at last.

As much as I hate to admit it. This Pats team is a very good team. Beatable yes! But a very good team. I doubt there is any type of conspiracy theroy going on here. Way to many people would have to be involed.

Cheating, corruption, we are reaching for straws guys. Our short run as champions is ending before our very eyes, our dreams of a repeat all but shattered, we are bitter. We are bitter at the national attention and adoration the Patriots are recieving, when we should be recieving the love. There is no corruption here folks, there is no cheating. The Patriots are simply the best team this Colts fan has ever seen. Thank You

The pats suck! By the way it used to be a team could accept or decline a penalty, they should have been able to decline the false start and take the result of the play. Why should a team not be able to do that with a false start like other penalties. Also Tony Dungy talked to Mike Pierera the vice-p of officiating on Mon. morning about the call on Gonzo for offensive interference, and told him if that is a penalty there better be a bunch called in the Mon. nite game because Moss does the same thing all the time and there was not 1 called on him! I hope the Steelers clobber them and hope the Dolphins shut them out! Go Colts!

There were a few calls that I questioned. But the bottom line is the Ravens had the game in hand and all it took was one play and they would have one. The COLTS had a few bad calls in the Charger game and they were one play from a win. I did not hear one word about the Ref's or the bad calls (blown whistke in the end zone) from the COLTS.

I hate to be naive' and this year is opening my eyes to corruption in the NFL. Only being a football fan I have always believed what I have heard about other sports but this year am finding out the NFL is not immune. I will continue to prefer to be naive' and believe in a non corrupt system and that money isn't everything :) As always.....I Believe!!!!!

All I can say is this...The more the Pats win, the harder it gets for them to keep winning in the Playoffs...I don't think they could play under all the pressure. Plus, last night was a perfect example of the Pats biggest weakness - Their running game. They really don't have one. They ARE one dimensional, and, when the weather conditions are like the way it was last night, it gets really hard for Brady to keep throwing. Trust and believe, it might be a good thing that the Pats won against us and could run the table and keep home field throughout the playoffs. Go Blue!!

I believe there is some serious actions that recently and in the past few years that have led me and others I have talked to, to believe there is some funny buisness going on in the NFL.. even Patriots aside things have happened in several games to make one wonder what is going on sometimes! but it is something that will probably never get confirmed . How sad !! It sometimes makes it hard to be a fan ..

I don't know. There could be. Maybe it was just a case of bad calls for this one game as opposed to an actual conspiracy, but who knows? My hope is that the Steelers will beat them, though. Regardless of what happens with the Pats, or any other team, I have no interest in getting the NFL Network. Especially not after having seen their recent coverage of the Colts game via WTHR.
