Good news Colts fans. Indianapolis is going to bid for the 2012 Super Bowl. Last year Indianapolsi lost their bid for the 2011 Super Bowl in a close vote to Dallas who at the last moment added seats to make thier stadium much larger than ours. Indy did recieve many compliment on their presentation.
If Indianapolis were to land the 2012 Super Bowl, it will be a great asset to the Central Indiana economy. Hotels, restuarants. stores and local attractions will see an influx of out of state dollars. Visitors to our city will be able to visit the NCAA Hall of Champioms, The Eiteljorg Museum. The Indianapolis Museum of Art, Circle Center Mall, and they can take a carriage ridse around the circle. And best of all, attend a game at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Visitors will also be able to dine at a variety of great restuarants, all without having to rent a car or taking a cab. You see, downtown Indy has the unique quality of having everyting within walking distance, hotels restuarnats sites, and the stadium.
Outrgoing mayor Bart Peteron was a strong supporter of the bid to bring a Super Bowl to Indianapolis. Its good to know that mayor elect Ballard is also supporting the city's bid.
Let me know what you think the chances are of Indianpolis winning the 2012 Super Bowl Bid, and what Indianapolis has to offer that other cities don't, or why you think it is a waste of time for Indianaplis to try to land a Super Bowl.
