It Could be Worse

I will have my usual post game blog tomorrow.  I just wanted to try and put things in perspective.  I just got home from The Luke.  Yes we lost the game.  That is horrifying.  I am still stunned at what I witnessed tonight though.  But I am not talking about the poor play by our beloved men in Blue.  And I do still love our Colts and support them wholeheartedly.  More on that in a minute.

But  I was most appalled by the huge number of Bears fans in The Luke.  There was orange everywhere, and they were loud.  This was supposed to be our grand opening of the Luke.  Instead about a quarter of the fans were for the other team!!  I do not understand why any Colts fan would sell their tickets to a Bears fan, or why anyone would be a Bears fan this week but a Colts fan the rest of the season.

The Colts have a site where season ticket holders can sell their tickets to Colts fans only.  If someone needs the money and wants to sell their tickets, that is not for me to tell them they can't, but PLEASE Colts fans, sell them to other Colts fans, not the enemy.

OK enough about that, back to the play on the field.  It was not the usual crisp Colts offense, and the defense struggled to stop the run.  But you know what, It could be a whole lot worse, I never thought we would go 16-0, so we lost, at least we still have Peyton.  Look at what the Patriots have to look forward to.  Chris Simms is coming to Foxboro tomorrow, I mean today, for a workout.  It looks like Brady is finished for the season.  So let's keep things in perspective before we start jumping off bridges.  I still predict a winning season, with 12 plus wins.  Coach Dungy will have the guys ready to go next week against Minnesota.  Anyway, after some sleep I will have a more thorough analysis tomorrow.  GO COLTS!!!!!

Hi Hun, was great to be able to say hi to ya. I'm really glad ya mentioned your Sec. and Row in one of your comments to me, was worried with no seat # but can't miss that red hair lol, I hope to hook up a bit earlier someday and talk a bit. Sorry I let so much go wrong at my end of the field, I was yelling as loud as I could (am hoarse today) but our Colts will Dust themselves off and be just fine, I still had a good night and pre-game. Traffic was awful coming home, barnum and baily had 2 animal wagons blocking 2 lanes of Delaware outside Conseco Fieldhouse and fall creek north has lane control but only had 2 lanes green out of town and 3 green inbound with no traffic inbound lol, Indy is a great host going on with the Fireworks display for all those bears fans lol. Have a Great week hun TC and GO COLTS!!!

Marmaduke - I agree with you. Last night was an eye opener, though I think there will be improvement next week. (I hope so...I get to go to the game in MN!) What was more depressing to see is that our defense couldn't shut them down on 3rd downs. Let's just hope that with Peyton back it's just a matter of working the kinks out.

Here's the deal, the economy sucks right now and that is why there was empty seats in the endzone but as far as Bear fans go, they do have great fans kinda like the Cub fans they are pretty die-hard fans and Indy isn't that far to travel either expecially to see our new stadium as well. But the bottom line is the fact that we can't score in the Redzone and expect to win games. Last night we had 3 blown oppurtunites in the red zone and instead of coming out of there with 21 points, we only got 6. Do the math, we may have the best kicker in the game but 3 points don't help alot when the other team scores TDs. I just hope Tony or Moore come up with something to help correct this issue as it hurt us last year as well. But, it's just game one so like Canderson says, don't jump off any bridges, just stay Blue. GO COLTS.

Great blog! Just like the Journey song says "Don't Stop Believin!" And I for one, never will!! One loss-and it wasn't even in our division! So, pull yourself up from your bootstraps & continue on!! People, it wasn't that long ago that we were so poorly that our games were blacked out. Don't forget how far we've come!! :) GO COLTS!!!

That was an absolute disgrace last night. Is that the best Indy can do? The grand opening of the new stadium in front of a nation tv audience and we have as many Bears fans as Colts fans? I was surrounded by drunken obnoxious Bears fans. Then I notice the section above the end zone had at least 7 completely empty rows. Did this game even sell out? I hope it's not a sign of things to come.
