Colts VS Bears

Ok I know there have been alot of blogs about the Colts vs Bears game.  It has taken me this long to get the foul taste out of my mouth about what transpired Sunday night.

This is how I see it, the offense could not get on track.  The running game was absent, I am not sure if it was that the O-line wasn't blocking or what.  I know we had some new guys in there, but they need to step up.  I think we really missed Dallas not only as a receiver but as a blocker on the line.

Peyton was a little rusty, had a few passes that were high or low, but all in all with no pre-season snaps, I thought he did a fantastic job.  I am disappointed in the number of drops by Gonzales.  More than once he had two hands on the ball and dropped it.  That is inexcusable.

Now for the defense,  we couldn't stop the run to save our lives.  Forte chopped us up like he was LT.  We must do a much better job next week or Adrian Peterson will have a career day.  It hurt me to say this, but My Man Bob seemed absent.  Where was his usual intensity that wreaks havoc?

Special teams didn't let Hester get to them, that was good, but they did have some dumb penalties that really hurt us.

All in all, it was an ugly game and a bad loss.  The silver lining though is , it was an NFC loss, and it was only 1 loss.  I truly believe this team has the makings of a championship team.  Lets keep cheering our guys and watch them continue to grow as a team and peak at the right time of the season and march on to Tampa and the Super Bowl.

What do you think?

GO COLTS!!!!

I thought that Marvin's fumble was the play that sealed their fate, just as in last year's playoff loss. The absence of the Colt's runing game might have been attributable to the new offensive line members, but I thought their pass blocking was commendable given three new starters. How many seventh round draft choices start at center in their first NFL game? Rusty? Yes. Excuses? No. As I mentioned in another blog, these veterans only have a few years left to return to the Super Bowl.

DON'T let Petterson have a career day........we did that and have yet to live it down. LOL The Colts and Bolts seem to have common problems this year. Both teams, I hope, can correct these issues and get back to form. We lost Merriman for the season yesterday so that is a HUGE blow. I hope you can get Jeff Saturday back soon....his presence is really missed right now. Can Dallas play or is he still going to sit out?? That would be a tough loss if he, too, is missing. Go Colts! Go Bolts!!

Your right. But we just didn't show up. Colts aren't use to losing the 1st game. I'm not worried...we will be back...Saturday..and clark....need to get back in there..and Petyon is just a little rusty....but he will be fine..he's the greatest QB in the NFL....

All your points are well taken!! Not an AFC loss maybe the key!! We'd better get lots better REAL QUICK!! I had us 12-4 but beating the Bears, I had us losing to the Vikes, so if I flip-flop those we'll still be 12-4!! That'll work!! LOL!! LET'S REALLY GO COLTS!!!

Yup-nuff said, especially about Gonzalez. I was thinking the same thing-touched it,shoulda had it. But the absence of Clark hurt us too. And Peyton didnt look peyton-like. Some rust for sure. No running game-a safety? Come on. Oh well...I'm not trying to be harsh or a hater about the game, time to move on! Go Colts!!!

Bad timing, and stupid mistakes. All can be fixed quickly. I'm not worried.
