Well, it was painful to watch yesterday with the Colts sitting at home. I was glad to be in the warmth of my house though. In Foxboro, I was hoping the Chargers would step up, but when LT went out I fugured it was pretty much over.
I must say, Brady played probably his worst game in many years. 3 interceptions? When was the last time he did that. I would never have thought that it would be the Patriots aging defense that would have kept them in the game. I will say Phillip Rivers did a nice job on his hobbled leg of moving them up and down the field. Thie failure however to score TDs in the red zone was what led to thier demise.
Moss was a non-factor again, but the ability of Faulk, Welker and Gaffney made up for Moss's lack of involvement. The SD defense came up big with those interceptions, which is pretty much the norm for them. Ultimately. and it pains me to say this, the better team won.
Now in the NFC Champiomship game, first of all did you see Tom Coughlin's face? Ouch, that looked like it was painful. The Gian'ts defense did a nice job, although I would have liked to have seen more sacks. Eli was Peyton like. He had water in his veins. He was never flustered, the cold didn't even seem to bother him. I am so happy for Little Bother Eli. My heart went out to Lawrence Tynes after he missed the second FG as time expired. I figured Coughlin would cut him right there. Good thing he didn't becuase he redeemed himslef. 47 yards, are you kidding me? What a great job....finally.
My kudos also goes out to the fans who arrived early in Green Bay and had to endure OT. That had to have been tough duty.
Anyway, now the Hype begins, 2 weeks of Brady VS Manning, even if it's not THE Manning. I'm sure Peyton will have lot's of brotherly edvice for Eli. As a former New Yorker all I can say is, GO GIANTS!!!!!
Any predictions for the Super Bowl? The Pats are 14 point favorites!!They have failed to cover the spread since late Novemebr. Just a little info in case you were planning on wagering a little something.
