Watching the Dome Deflate

Hey Everyone I went to watch the dome deflate today.  It wasa perfect day.  A beautful blue sky as a backdrop.  I got some great pictures, I hope you will check ot my album.

It was strange, it seemd to take forever.  I got there just before 10:30 and waited for what seemed likeforfever with a bunch of others, waiting for a sign that the air was actually coming out.

Finally shortly after 11  we cols see some ripples andwrinkles in the southend.  It seemed as though they did it in sections.  beforetoo long we coul see thenorth end start to show wrinkles as well.

There were smallplanes and news helicopters flyiing overhead.  I bet they had a great view.

It was sort of sad to see that majestic old place be deflated.  I am glad I took the time to watch.  The memory of that dome and the great times like the AFC Championship game will be with me forvever.

It was a landmark and a shame they couldn't 'repurpose' it for something

I will go check out the pictures next but I have to tell you as much as I would have loved to have been there with you, it's probably a good thing I wasn't as I am sure I would have shed tears. Love our new home but the "Hoosier Dome" is always going to be our original home and the beginning of many wonderful memories! I will miss it terribly but will hold on tight to the FANTABULOUS times!

I got to watch it on www.wishtv.com and it was a strange experience to watch the dome deflate. it held so many memories. The interior camera shot showed the middle come down, and to see the seating fall behind the dome was surreal. Thanks for the blog and pics!

Yeah it was a bit sad watching it go down. Been going there for 22 years for Colts games,concerts,etc.(yeah-even monster trucks!)I even worked a few WWF events down there-back in the day of Hulk Hogan and Andre the giant.I even seperated my shoulder there playing football on the field when our station used to televise pre-season games...ah the memories...

I'll bet the skyline looks odd now.

It did take forever! I looked for faces I've seen on the sight but didn't see anyone who looked familiar. We were right beside the podium so had a great view.
