UPDATE: Gordon suggested I add the word "COLTS" to the pumpkin somehow. GREAT idea, so I did. I added an updated picture to the photo album.
~~~~~~~~
I have been making these little knit pumpkins for my son to take in to school for his class. Last night I was thinking, why not make one in COLTS colors. So I dug out some COLTS blue yarn, and did make a COLTS pumpkin. The picture is in my new photo album "Homemade COLTS". You can click here >> Homemade COLTS << to see it. If that link doesn't work, just go to my profile page >> my profile << and click on the album from there. I may use this idea to make some COLTS ornaments for the Christmas tree. This little pumpkin was done with a handcrank knitting machine, but could easily be done by casting on about 15 stitches, knit for about 20 rows and bind off. Then just close the ends and stuff with fluff. The stem was done by crocheting a chain of 8, and single stiching back down that chain, and attaching it to the top of the pumpkin. Pipe cleaners work well here too, but be careful. If a kid is going to be around it, it would be a choking hazard..that is why I crocheted my stems.
I wanted to share this idea with my MyCOLTS friends, so this blog was created. Here I will share my crafty COLTS ideas, any COLTS food idea for tailgating (or whatever)...anything that can be made at home that represents our boys in blue. If at all possible I will post any directions, or recipe's as well. Later on today I am going to do a COLTS pillow. It's no sew, so even those that aren't a sewer (like myself) can do it. I will let you know when it's done. Also, any pictures of my "Handmade COLTS" stuff will be in my new photo album with the same name.
So what do you think of my COLTS pumpkin?
