EaRtHqUaKe hits midwest

About 5:30 this morning I woke up to what I thought was thunder at the time.  The windows were rattling, and the whole room was shaking.  ...but the shaking went on.  I sat up and knew then it was an EaRtHqUaKe.  When I got up a little later and turned on the news, I saw it WAS an EaRtHqUaKe!  The epicenter was in eastern Illinois, but the quake was felt all over the midwest, and here in Avon (just west of Indy).  It was really kind of freeky.  My son was pretty excited about feeling his first quake.  This one was the second for me.  One time about 20 years ago I was doing laundry at a laundrymat place, and the whole place starting rattling.  I thought man is my dryer out of balance.  Got home and saw on the news it was an EaRtHqUaKe!  Where were you for this mornings quake?  Did you feel it?  I have heard it registered a 5.4, while others have said 5.2.  Either way that's pretty strong.  Be safe today, and always.

I love your random thoughts blog, call me lame, but its one of my faves!!! YES, I felt the quake and the aftershock - very strange, first time I've felt one. Mom said it was my Pop raising hell about my job situation. Too nuts - where the epicenter is/ was is just where my Pop was buried. (insert Twilight Zone theme music.) Love ya! C.

Yes I felt it. I already bored everyone with my stories. But Bucky very few of us would be high at 4:45 in the morning. Most of us are over 30. Some of us are way over ....

I felt it. I've experienced two mild ones before, but this one surprised me because it lasted longer and was stronger than I expected to be.

Since I live outside of Indy it wasn't felt over here unless I didn't realize it because I was sleeping at 5:30

We just had an aftershock! I cannot get used to these. I have been to CA several times and never once felt a quake there. But this is my third one in Indiana, and now this aftershock. They scare me so much because they can hit at any moment. With storms, you at least have some warning when you see clouds building, etc. But with earthquakes, they just hit!
