LIGHTENING STRIKES

Thank goodness this week the temps have been down, and so has the humidity.  This past weekend, I think it was Saturday night, there was another storm.  Way bad lightening.  I was out in the garage when it struck just outside the garage.  The ground shook.  I even screemed.  The power went out too.  After the power came back on our air didn't.  Monday dh called a guy that came out and said some board was fried, and it was probably because of the lightening strike.  To be sure he ordered a new one, came out yesterday and put it in.  It blew, and didn't fix a thing.  He got to looking at the furnace and told us the board in it was a gonner too, and that the transformer was fried as well.  Looks like the lightening killed our air conditioning unit, and furnace...and will have to be replaced.  Hopefully the homeowners ins will cover it cause that's an expensive thing to replace.  Sooooo for the last few days we have had no air.  The windows are open, and fans on.  THANK GOODNESS the temps haven't been to bad, and the humidity has been low.  It did get a little stuffy last night though.  My eye allergies and congestion are the worst of it.  Poor ds has been having a tough time breathing too.  Who knows when the homeowners guys will do whatever they are going to do so we can get this all replaced.  I hope it's quickly, but we'll see.  I'm not complaining though, it sure could be worse.  It could be August and 95 degrees outside.  It could have been the house and not the air unit outside that got hit.... so we are just fine.  In the mean time the windows are open, fans are on...and the blinds stay shut to block out some sun.

I'm an insurance agent and during busy times (like with this flooding) things get slowed down. Take pictures, keep receipts and get yourself comfortable if you can't get an immediate adjuster. Then you can seek reimbursement.
