Root For the evil Patriots?

Ok, I've gotten some great comments about the Pats/Ravens game, keep them coming.  But now it's time to move on to a more serious topic.  Who do we as Colts fans root for in the Pats/Steelers matchup?

This may surprise you but we absolutely MUST root for the Patriots.  It upsets my stomach to even think that but this is for playoff seeding.

Screw the Pats perfect season, if they get it, it doesn't mean anything.  They have thier eye on OUR trophy, the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

We need Pittsburgh to lose to give us a cushion in the race for the second seed.  We have a 1 game lead right now.  We can't catch the Patriots, they will be the #1 seed.  If Pittsburgh beats the Patriots and the unthinkable happens, we have a slip up along the way, Pittsburgh would be tied with us and win the tiebreaker because they would have beaten the Pats, and we didn't!!

So as unthinkable as it seems, and as hard as it will be, we have to say "GO PATS"  this Sunday :(
Let me know if you will be rooting for the Pats this weekend, and how to make it easier to swallow.  I am havinig a real hard time with this.

I found a flaw in this!! The team with the best w-l-t record within the division is the first tie breaker used. And it is Pittsburgh 7-3 counting loss to NWE and we are 7-1 not counting the Ravens game. Thought I'd let you know.

Only time I wanted the Pats to win was against San Diego last year in the playoffs so we would get them at home. And just cause you want a team to win means you have to root for them. Like you could root that Brady gets his head smashed in.

Got to say.... Go Steelers! The Pats have been compared with every great team from NFL history... Even though when we were 13-0 I don't recall all this hoopla.... but I regress. Any hoot. While the Pats are having a bang up season they certainly haven't earned a "perfect" season.... The Colts should have had them, the Raven should have had them, and NOW the Steeler will have them. Go

I understand the logic behind your blog. I understand that seedings are important and the Colts want to be as high as possible, but I just can't root for the Pats. I'm pulling for the Steelers. I am so sick of hearing about the Pats and their perfect season -- I just want them to lose 1 game -- so all the talk will stop.

I BELIEVE IN BLUE! I will never rout for the Pats. We're better off without a bye, and we're better off when we don't rest our starters. GO STEELERS, and I cant wait to see a HUNGRY Dolphins team try to keep from being made fools of like they know the Pats will try to do! The Pats didn't beat Baltimore-the officials gave it to them! That was NOT a TD, There was no ball controll inbounds! Just another example of the NFL trying to milk the cash cow.

Sorry, have to agree with millercolt1 on this one we play better without time off, and when there's a real fight. I don't like either team, this will be the one & only time I root fr the Steelers

I will never ever root for the Pats. I don't think it is bad for us to play without a break. It keeps us from getting rusty. Go Colts!

Sorry, NO sell here. I will never root for the pats, something major would have to happen for me to root for them. Go Steelers! The Colts seem to play better with a lower seeding in the playoffs because they no they have to fight, but there is still a chance for the colts to be a number 1 seed. It may look like a long shot, but the Steelers will be them and then Miami will finally have its first win when they play the pats. Hey it may not happen but I'll cheer for whoever plays the pats. The Colts can win another Super Bowl with a 1, 2, 3, or even 4th seed! GO COLTS!!!
