Sunday's Wild Card Games and a look ahead

Well good for Eli, Peyton's little brother who looked abysmal in  the first half, pulled it out today.  So far so good for the Manning family, one moves on.  Big brother will do the same next week.

This is about todays games. so back to the Giants/Buc game.  No one really gave the Giants a chance.  I did, after seeing Eli's performance last week, I just had a feeling that he woud come up big this week.  Like I said, it didn't start out that way.  But in the end, the Giants prevailed.

But now onto the real game of interest.  San Diego vs the Titans.  It was a rough, hard fought game, with lots of hard hits and some injuries.   But we know now that the Chargers will be visiting the Dome.

Vince Young had to leave the game in the first half after he was thrown to the ground hitting his head really hard.  Frankly I was surprised he was back in for the next series.  Antonio Gates also left the game, on a cart.  It will be interesting to see if he is able to come back next week at the Dome.

Rivers had a rocky start, as tid LT.  In the second half they did get things going.  Outplaying the Titans big time

I really don't see the Chargers giving the Colts much of a problem though.  Their defense is tough but we have had 2 weeks to prepare. for them, plus we played them earlier in the year so know what to expect.  I see The Colts just being able to outscore  San Diego.
Even with Rivers and LT,  tihis time Peyton won't be throwing to the other team.  You can be sure of that, and although iI don't think it will be that close, but if Adam needs to nail a last second field tgoial to win it, he won't miss this time.

So with the Wild Card games behinjd us, I think they pretty much played out like we though, except that the Giants handled Tampa Bay in their house.  Now let's get ready for the BIG BOYS, let's see how the Pats, and the Coilts, the Cowboys and the Packers do.  These are the teams that have been in the headlines all season  long.  The way I see it is that the Colts will handle the Chargers, the Jags may actually be able to handle the Pats, I'm not predicting they will win, but it may be a competative game.

As far as the NFC, I see the Giants going into Dallas and handling the Cowboys.  The Cowboys just have not looked great these past few weeks.  I see the Packers beating the Seahawks at Lambeau.

Let me know what your thoughts are on the Wild Card gmes and the matchups for next week.

One week from tonight the Colts will be heading to the AFC Championship game for the secoind year in a row.  GO COLTS!!

I completly agree with natedawg1979's picks. Although I wouldn't be surprised if the Jags upset the Patriots.

It would be great to have the final game at the Dome be a Colts victory over the Jags....Then open Lucas Oil Stadium by hoisting the Super Bowl Champions banner!!!

Had to figure out the 'star' thing. "...don't think the Chargers will give the Colts much of a problem...". Hmmmm....3 stars? "...don't think it will be that close..." Hmmm..how 'bout 1 star? Nah, I'll give you 5. Great blog.

I was very happy to see the Giants win. Now it's time to look ahead to Sunday's game at the Dome. I feel very confident that our guys can win. Still, the playoffs always make me nervous. I am really hoping the Jags take down the Pats. (Although it would be wonderful for the Colts to be the team to take them out.) Go Colts!

I picked the Giants to beat the Bucs, YEA! The Colts have had plenty of time to get ready for the Chargers, so the Colts will beat them by 10. I'll root for the Giants but I cant see Eli carrying the team again. As for the "cheaters", remember that what comes around, goes around! Hope they fall flat on their face!!

It will be an interesting game. Can our linebackers, safeties handle Chambers? Can our front line stop LT? Will the pressure get to Peyton? Will Harrison be back, and if he is, how about his conditioning, timing? Hoping the Jaguars match up well against the Pats. The running game of the Jags in the cold weather at New England could be of benefit. If it becomes a ground game, the Jags could come out on top. With the cheerleading of Colleen, the Colts shall be victorious!!!!!!!

I was glad to see the Giants win. I am glad that the chargers won. Now Indy can show the Chargers that we can win the game aginst them, now that we are healthy. It would be great to see the Jags beat the Pats, then we would host the AFC championship again. Be it Jags or Pats, I do not see any body that can stop the Colts from returning for the scond Manning Bowl. I would love to see the Giants and Colts in a rematch from the 06 opener.

The Chargers get to play a more complete roster this time and I'll be rooting for the Jaguars too. The AFC chamionship would be a good farewell to the RCA dome.
