After Thoughts

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
This past summer my Mom passed away. I would like to thank all of you for your thoughts, prayers, sympathy and support. Even in the midst of painful times we learn valuable lessons - I'd like to pass one of those on to you. Perhaps you were smart enough to figure this out on your own and this is not needed....but just in case....
In cleaning out my Mom's house I came across a ton of cards she got when I was a baby, and of course baby pictures. I wished with all my heart that I had asked her who those people were who sent the cards...what things were like when I was just born, in my 6 month pictures..etc... She lived with breast cancer for 10 years and in all that time I never addressed these issues. She wanted help sorting through stuff but we, her children were too busy..right now...and then there was no more time to ask.
If you still have living parents and grandparents I urge you to find the time to go thru pictures, cards and letters - you will be so glad that you did. My husband is a big advocate of scanning pictures, letters and oth...Read

About Me
The answer is yes. People end up asking me if I really am a pastor. I am a Lutheran pastor who is celebrating the 21st anniversary of my ordination into the ministry of word and sacrament. It is a huge part of who I am and what I believe. My calling is not in a parish/church setting but in a prison as a chaplain. Working for the state can be a pain, but I wouldn't trade my job for any other. In my work I expect excellence of myself - no quarter given, none expected.
I am passionate about things I believe in. I advocate for those who have no voice. I believe that all I have and am is first and foremost a gift from God. I am a sentimental person although life has helped me develop a cynical edge. I do my work as a prison chaplain in a medical unit.
I love all those inspiring football movies like: Rudy, The Invincibles, Facing the Giants ..people overcoming great odds kind of stuff...the power of the human spirit to rise to greatness etc..
Really sappy songs like, "I believe", "To Dream the Impossible Dream", "Climb Every Mountain", are songs that make my spirit sing, help me to believe ANYTHING is possible.

What I do...
I like to spend my summers on Lake Superior in Michigan's UP. I like to spend time with my husband and two rescue dogs. I like to read ..mostly light reading. I like the sign language mass I attend on Saturdays.

Upper Penn of Michigan.

If I could go anywhere, I would go to...
I like to go anywhere with those I love. I would return to Michigan's Lake Superior, in Copper Harbor, MI where there is NO cell phone coverage. I would meditate, read my Bible, read in general and walk around the lake. We camp in our vintage Airstream with our two rescue dogs.
I would like to go to England and Germany (in Germany) to see where my relatives once lived.
I would really like to go to a COLTS game...with whoever I could get to go.
